Assassination Custard

Assassination Custard

Dublin, Leinster, Ireland

Overview

Assassination Custard is perhaps Dublin's most unique dining experience. This tiny establishment on Kevin Street Lower, with just a handful of seats, is run by husband and wife team Ken Doherty and Gwen McGrath. Named after a dessert mentioned in James Joyce's Ulysses, the restaurant serves a daily changing menu of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired small plates. Despite its limited opening hours (lunch only, Tuesday to Friday) and cash-only policy, Assassination Custard has developed a cult following among Dublin's food enthusiasts. Its intimate size means that securing a seat can be challenging, with many regulars arriving early to avoid disappointment.
