The Varsity
Overview
Established in 1928 by Frank Gordy, The Varsity is the world's largest drive-in restaurant and an iconic Atlanta landmark. Originally located across from Georgia Tech's campus, it was designed to serve hungry college students. The downtown location now covers more than two acres and can accommodate 800 diners. Famous for its carhop service, distinctive lingo ('What'll ya have?'), and classic American fast food, The Varsity has served numerous celebrities and presidents over its nearly century-long history.
