A Charlotte institution since 1962, Price's Chicken Coop was a no-frills takeout-only spot that became legendary for its Southern fried chicken. Though the original location closed in 2021 after nearly 60 years of business, it has reopened in a new location while maintaining its status as a culinary landmark. Generations of Charlotteans and visitors lined up for their perfectly seasoned, crispy fried chicken served in a simple cardboard box with traditional sides.
