Overview

Established in 1947 by Lucy Jackson, Busy Bee Cafe has been serving authentic soul food for over 70 years. Located in Atlanta's historic West End, it became an important meeting place during the Civil Rights Movement, hosting leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. Current owner Tracy Gates has preserved the restaurant's legacy while maintaining its reputation for having some of the best fried chicken in America. The small, unassuming restaurant often has lines out the door and has been featured on numerous food shows and publications, including being named an America's Classic by the James Beard Foundation.
