The Original Ninfa's on Navigation
Overview
The Original Ninfa's on Navigation is a Houston institution that dates back to 1973 when 'Mama' Ninfa Laurenzo started serving tacos al carbon from a small taco stand in front of her family's struggling tortilla factory. Her grilled skirt steak tacos would later become known nationally as 'fajitas,' helping to popularize the dish across America. The restaurant has evolved over the decades but maintains its commitment to authentic Tex-Mex cuisine made from scratch. Now under the culinary direction of award-winning chef Alex Padilla, who trained under James Beard Award winner Nancy Oakes, Ninfa's continues to honor its founder's legacy while evolving its menu for contemporary diners.
