Superdawg Drive-In

Superdawg Drive-In

Chicago, IL, USA

Overview

Superdawg Drive-In has been serving its signature take on the Chicago-style hot dog since 1948. Founded by Maurie and Flaurie Berman, this authentic drive-in restaurant maintains its 1950s charm with carhop service and iconic 12-foot hot dog mascots (named Maurie and Flaurie) adorning the roof. Unlike traditional Chicago dogs, Superdawg serves its all-beef frankfurters on a poppy seed bun with their proprietary piccalilli (sweet pickle relish) and topped with a pickled green tomato instead of a red one. The restaurant has remained family-owned for three generations and continues to be a nostalgic destination for both locals and visitors.
